As implied by the name of the treatment, ‘teeth in a day’ allows for multiple missing teeth to be replaced, in just a single day.

Using as few as 4 specially-angled implants with a custom denture or a bridge placed over the top, the teeth in a day process can secure one or two full arches of teeth in place, giving you back the ability to break down a wide variety of foods and restoring a natural-looking smile.

FAQs

1. How does treatment with teeth in a day work?

Before treatment, we will identify the areas of your jaw where bone density is most prevalent, and the implants will sit in these areas. By placing usually between four to eight implants at specific angles and at these sites, we are able to take advantage of the dense areas of bone where it is usually not present. This means patients with absent bone in commonly placed sites can still have dental implant treatments.

2. What are the benefits of treatment with teeth in a day?

  • Quickly restores your eating and chewing ability: Teeth in a day allow you to eat and chew very soon after treatment is complete.
  • Fixed answer to tooth loss: Your replacement teeth are secured in place, unlike conventional dentures which are prone to loosening and slipping.
  • Cost-effective treatment: Favourable option for those on a budget but who still want to benefit from having dental implants. A popular option for replacing older dentures and bridgework: teeth in a day can tackle failing bridgework and dentures.

3. What is the procedure behind teeth in a day?

Examination and planning

Using our cutting-edge CT scanner, we will examine your jawbone to ascertain the best position to place the implants (as described above), and the relevant bone grafting requirements.

Implant placement

Before treatment takes place, Our implant surgeons will ask you if you would like the option of sedation during the surgical placement of your implant. While we will outline what’s involved with sedation for you before your appointment, you can read a little bit about this before your appointment here. A temporary bridge is placed, so you have the ability to chew and bite during the 3–6 month healing period. During this healing period, you have the opportunity to trial your new smile and, together with your dentist here at Oatlands Dental Lounge, decide on any changes such as tooth shade and positioning. This period also allows the implants to completely fuse to the bone, before your permanent restoration is secured in place.

Healing period and finished result

Once the healing period has passed, we can invite you into the practice to have your custom-made bridge or dentures fitted.
